Au revoir Dad

My gorgeous Dad passed away in the early hours of this morning just one day shy of his 85th birthday.  I was priviledged to be with him holding his hand as he passed.  I'm so glad he is now without the emcumbrances that his illness brought him, is peaceful and on his way to whatever happens next.

Thank you so much for your messages of encouragement, love and support.  They have been a great source if encouragement and comfort to me and my Mum.

  3. Oh Anne. I'm glad that he is at peace and without pain, but I am so so sorry for your loss, there is nothing like it.

It is a true privilege, as you said, to be present with someone loved as they make that transition. I am still in awe of that process.

Lots of love to you and your family.

At least he was surrounded by loving family in his last days, and has had a good long life with those he loved and who loved him.

  10. I'm sorry I missed your post yesterday and have only just seen this one. I have been ill and not on the computer much. Sending you a hug today, I know there's nothing I can say really. I am jut so glad you were there, that you got to spend some time with him over the last few days, share an early birthday and hold his hand for the end. Thinking of you. xxx

  13. Thinking of you at this sad time,

Those we hold closest to our hearts never truly leave us. They live on in the kindness they have shared and the love they brought into our lives.

  14. Dear Anne, how sad your heart must be, having said goodbye to your Dad. I hope that you readily find your "stillness" at the tree in the coming days & weeks.
It seems to me that there has been just the right timing going on these past months...your regular visits home, the two of you there with him in the last days & the birthday sparkle. Release...
I pray comfort for your mum as she needs it & a gentle love to surround you all & carry you through this time.
Much love & many hugs my friend, Catherine x0x0x0x
