Mismatched

It was only after breakfast this morning while still in my pyjamas that I realised I was wearing these.

The really sad thing was that it didn't even feel like I was wearing different shoes.  It was only when I looked down I realised what I was wearing.  Once when the girls were in primary school and I was doing the morning drop off, I had left the house in one black and one dark brown shoe.  I'd put them on in the darkness of my bedroom and in the rush hadn't realised they were a mismatched pair.  My friends all had a good laugh as did I.

What is the worst/funniest thing you've worn out without noticing until it was too late?

  1. No doubt you have another pair of sandals exactly the same in the wardrobe Anne, hehe.....what a giggle!!

Can't think of anything I've worn that was mismatched as such, but back in the 80's I imagine there were some horrible fashion choices taking place.

I do remember once driving the ute into town to pick Rich up from school. I angled parked in front of the school and another mum knocked on my window and told me my trailer was blocking the roadway........
Obviously, I was in such a rush I didn't bother using the rear view mirror at all!!

    Veeeery embarrassing,

  2. I had one fleece that somehow I would always put on inside out - somehow the stripy seam taping round the collar looked like some sort of external decoration. But the rest of it looked decidedly inside out. In the end I had to throw it away as it was becoming a bit of an issue. And of course there is my penchant for buttoning up coats and cardigans skew whiff . . .

  3. Nine months into my last pregnancy I did the same thing. One red and one black shoe - same style. Which was fine as my maternity dress was white with red and black sripes. I had a good laugh with the other Mums doing pick up duty who noticed the discrpancy before I did. Cherrie

  4. You could set a new trend ! Jess wears different colour Converse shoes as she has several pairs.
I wore a jacket inside out for a while as I preferred the lining !

  5. Been there only worse. I was at the check out line of a big, major department store, and happened to look down to notice (in horror) that I`d put my dress on inside out!!!!

I was pregnant at the time and had a 2 year old; I guess l had other things on my mind. I was mortified!

  7. I can't think of anything I've worn without noticing, but I had an incident whilst out shopping once. I felt something drop on my head and I asked my kids to see if a bird had pooed on me. They said it had but I couldn't feel anything with my hand so I thought they were joking, especially as they were laughing so much. It wasn't until I got home and looked in the mirror that I realised it was true.

  8. Haha! I think the funniest and/or stupidest thing I ever did was once, about 8 or 9 years ago, we were just setting off for a walk on the Roaches and I was looking for my sunglasses - looking everywhere and I just couldn't find them. When my then boyfriend asked what I was looking for and I said my sunglasses he pointed out that I was already wearing them - and I don't mean on top of my head, but right in front of my eyes!! How we laughed!

In my defence I do have an eye condition (perhaps occular rosacea, perhaps something else, they can't confirm) and my eyes are very light sensitive - at the time my eyes were in a bad phase and light was too bright even with sunglasses so I just hadn't realised I was wearing them!

  9. Lol Anne. I've done the same with shoes when leaving in the dark in winter one year long time back. I had two pairs the same - one navy and one black. Doubt that anyone but me noticed, but boy was I noticing it all day! cheers Wendy

  11. So it looks like your not the only one...some funny stories here... brings back memories...I remember once, Many years ago I arrived at work (in Winter) and when I hopped out of the car I still had my Fluffy Slippers on! I was only 19 and I was so embarrassed, I drove straight home again to change shoes so no body knew! :)
