Travels in Europe

Hello everyone, how are you?  I am writing this post from Lake Como, Italy which has to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.  Words really can't describe such beauty.  I'm sorry my posts have been few and far between, we have been very busy but loving every moment.

Paris is a lovely city and we spent a two wonderful days walking and immersing ourselves in that wonderful city.
Hotel Chopin where we stayed is at the end of this beautiful covered arcade.

After enjoying Paris we drove to Dijon travelling through some gorgeous little villages like this one.

Dijon was a surprise, much more beautiful than we were expecting and spent extra time there wandering around the historic part of the city.  The buildings were beautiful.

Doorways and doors ornate.
After reluctantly leaving Dijon we traveled into Switzerland through pretty countryside, gorgeous villages and even saw some cows with bells on.

We stayed one night in Switzerland in the lovely village of Keppel.  The next day was spent driving to Italy and going through many tunnels in the Switzerland earth to get there.  One tunnel is 17 kilometers long and I was extremely glad to get out of there.

Driving in this part of Italy has been challenging for hubby as the streets and roads are narrow and the drivers are mad, worse than Parisian drivers.

We took the car ferry across Lake Como to get to Bellagio where we are staying.  We have a lovely views from our windows.
One of the many gorgeous little alleyway/streets in Bellagio.

We visited the gardens of a beautiful villa yesterday, the views stunning.

We woke up to a sunny day today which is lovely as yesterday it was raining and we had to buy umbrellas as our coats couldn't cope.  We will probably have a quieter day today strolling around Bellagio.  I have an awful head cold and feeling under the weather but I'm sure some paracetamol and lovely views will help immensely.

Sorry I haven't been able to comment on your blogs, there just isn't time.  :(

Until next post, take care everyone,

Anne  xx

  1. Oh Anne, sorry to hear you've got a cold, but I'm sure you'll soldier on and make the most of every moment.

Stunning pics and well done to hubby for taking on driving O/S....Not sure I'd like a tunnel 17kms long either!!!

Hope the weather clears up so you can enjoy those beautiful views, travel safely...

  2. A post from Italy! How wonderful it all looks, the beautiful architecture and the gorgeous views and vistas!
Years ago we too did that drive to Italy, to Limones on Lake Garda, and we loved every minute of it! (wel, maybe not those loooong tunnels thru Sitzerland - bit claustraphobic!).
Hope you have a wonderful holiday and the journey to and from by car is all a part of it - the freedom of the road - no being stuck in airports!
