Having fun in my new space

Today it happened, I finally got to spend some serious Anne time in my new space.  After moving a few more things such as the sewing machine, fabric and a tabletop ironing board, I got stuck into the enjoyable task of making curtains from the scarfs I've been collecting.

I bought myself a small iron so that I don't have to go back to the house every time I need to press a seam.  I already had the tabletop ironing board, it's just so handing having it set up ready to go.

I've been putting some more bits and pieces in my space, a CD player for those times when I want music.  At the moment though I'm enjoying the quiet.  I also put this display board in today.  I've had this for some time, a collection of photos of things I like.  Hanging on it is a little trinket I made a few days ago just for fun.

Don't you just love the Labrador wearing gum boots (wellingtons)?

I can't remember if I mentioned on here that before Christmas I started having swimming lessons.  I had some as a child but was never competent in freestyle or backstroke which are the strokes in which I'm being taught the correct techniques.  I am going for my first swim in over a month tomorrow and looking forward to getting some exercise after all the indulgences of Christmas and New Year.

  2. I've just caught up with your recent posts!! Your studio is looking fabulous, I bet you are just loving organising your things in there? I know for me half the fun is the arranging of the stash, not just the making things from it!!

I've not been in my cabin at all over Christmas as Mr. G has been off but I'm going in there this afternoon for a couple of hours.

We're lucky girls to have our own girl caves

  3. It's coming together nicely. Good luck with your swimming. I was in the pool this morning - breast stroke and back stroke are my strokes of choice. I don't like to get my face wet!

  6. I love this 'lady space' ... it's probably somewhere we wish we all had when our kids were growing up! The collage of pictures is great too, I might try that. Can't wait to see those pretty curtains up.

  7. It's nice to have your own space, just for you. You can do what you want til your heart's content :)

Good on you for taking up swimming lessons. I am a not so good swimmer, did take lessons for a while, but never became confident. I had a scare when I was twelve and have not liked water over my head since. I do enjoy just bobbing around in the water though...

Your little trinket is the perfect reminder and your scarf style curtain will look lovely when finished.
Well done on the swimming lessons, you'll be glad you had them. I think the pool is the place to be this week. It's going to be rather warm......x
