Preparations

What have we here?

Party decorations to suit the personality of a young lady who wears shoes like these.

Yesterday's cooking and baking.
Mini corn and chive muffins.  I added a little seasoning as the first batch were a little bland.

Chicken nuggets to be served with a homemade barbecue sauce.

Chicken balls to be served with a dipping sauce.

All these goodies have been put in the freezer for Saturday night.  Much of the food preparation can't be done until Friday, baking the cake (decorating to be done on Saturday) and other yummy things like Smoked salman canapes, Pistachios and Brie on thin baguette slices and tomato bruschetta can't be made until late Saturday afternoon.  I'm going to cheat with the sausage rolls and spinach and fetta triangles and buy them.  Other bits and pieces will be done on Saturday morning.  Some of the decorations will hopefully go up today.

Off to do a BIG grocery shop followed by a thorough cleaning of the house.  Sounds like fun doesn't it?  :-/

  3. eh - housework and I try to keep a respectful distance. Wish I had an Alice from the Brady Bunch.
2 big birthdays very close together - actually come to think of it - my sister and I were the same - 3 years apart within 3 days of one another.
    Are they friends yet?
Took us til our mid 20's til we were close as grown-ups.
You're exceptionally organized and those little chivey scones look very yum - they wouldn't last until Saturday around these parts!

  8. Anne - you've done well. I always find it amazing how something that starts off sounding simple (as in planning a get together or party) ends up bigger than Ben Hur. There is so much to do and so much $$ to spend! Have fun, it sounds like you are going well.
